The tons of waffle shops along Dluga were a welcome sight - we stopped to sample ones with cherries and whipped cream. Too many cherries, but this was still the best waffle we've had in the Baltic region (though that doesn't say much).

Pierogi for dinner - mine was poultry, raisin and nuts. Everything was mashed so well together that the individual flavours weren't distinctive.

Mary went with the meat pierogi - both types were dry and kind of tasted the same. Both also were served in an oily bacon sauce. I had better pierogi last year in Krakow (see Euro 2006 blog entitled "Horrified, appalled, and speechless"). The waitress last year was cuter, but not as friendly as this one. I always seem to remember the important details, don't I?

Mary was bored and starting folding paper cranes. Mary told me that she was folding 10,000 of them - there is a belief that folding 10,000 paper cranes will make that person's wish come true. When I asked her what her wish would be, she replied "That you would go away." Ouch again!
