Baltic Coast
the Baltic coast which we checked out on our last morning in Gdańsk...underwhelming... Being back in Warszawa has been wonderful. I love this city and the people in it...I don't want to leave :-(
so we got in around 8pm on thursday from gdańsk and took a cab to her cousins' place in the mokotów area. they've been awesome and we've had a lot of fun chilling with them...that night we went back to rasko and waited til after 3am to hang out with jarek. we went and got kebabs (awesome) and whatnot before heading back to iza and wojtek's to sleep...
friday morning we met jarek in front of good 'ole McDonalds at 11 to head to Wilanów for the day. Wilanów is "Poland's answer to Versailles". While it was a really cool place, I wouldn't go about comparing it to Versailles. We toured the interiors and whatnot, but no pictures were allowed inside, unfortunately. Some of the ceilings were way too low and made the place seem a bit claustrophobic at times, but it was all beautiful of course.
after that we were hungry so we sat down at an outdoor grill on the palace's grounds. i got grilled pstrąg (trout) with grilled vegetables and potatoes which were all
Outside..
Outside of Wilanów super good (picture added for karen, lol) then it was off to the palace's gardens which were beautiful. we ended up getting a rowboat for an hour and just drifting along the lake. so relaxing...by that time we of course needed ice cream, so that's just what we did
after wilanów jarek had to go to work so kasia and i headed back to her cousins and then to an uber trendy pizza/italian place for dinner. i got a pizza which lox and cream cheese on it which was of course awesome. neither of us have any recollection of what we did afterwards, so i guess i'll add that later if i remember, haha
this morning we got up and waited for her cousins to get back so we could all go to łazienki park together. awesome place. we had a great lunch at this artsy restaurant - avocado chłodnik and then some freakin' awesome śledz (herring) with chopped apples in a cream sauce plus some little potatoes. we went over to the chopin monument and then to check out this apartment, but the realtor newer showed so we just left. we stopped at a store to get
Pstrąg
My trout, head included sok jabłkowy z miętę (apple juice with mint) and then went back to chill for a bit...
after that it was back to łazienki to hang out with iza's friends from work and play some volleyball. pretty random but lots of fun. then we hit up this cool coffee place and split up so we could go to the internet cafe. in a bit we're back to rasko for the last time :-( tomorrow we're off to wrocław...

I agree with Mary and Christine...I feel like I'm on this trip with you, but your entries do totally revolve around food. Miss you Jeff...and BC won't be the same without you. <3 Vanessa
