Our last day in Norway... For now :)

Slept in a little this morning so we could be refreshed for our last full day in Norway. We walked down to the Lillehammer city center for a little shopping, but didn't find much so it was a short trip. We decided to check out the 1994 Olympic park... which was kind of a let down (I guess it has been 20 years!) We drove over to the Olympic park and expected to find some signs/information/history - but didn't find anything! We aren't even sure we found the torch (we did take a picture of something in the Olympic park that we are guessing was it)! We then drove up to the top of the ski jump hill, which was pretty neat and provided a great view. After the Olympic park, we decided to check out one of the open air museums in Lillehammer on the history of life in Norway. Thankfully it was free, because it wasn't that great either - although there was a pretty cool stave church amongst the buildings! So after our little tour of Lillehammer we made our way to Hamar, where we are spending our final night in Norway. We arrived around 3:30pm and went for a walk around the city center, and then over to the site of the ice skating in the 94 Olympics - it was a cool building but looked like it hadn't been used in 20 years... There wasn't much going on in Hamar, so we grabbed dinner in the hotel and came back upstairs to get everything packed up. We have to drive to Oslo tomorrow morning to catch our flight home - should be an hour and a half or so to get to the airport. Overall, we had a great trip - I think when we come back (someday!) we will hang out on the western side of Norway - we both missed seeing the fjords today. We are ready to come home though, and are especially looking forward to seeing our little puppy! 😊 And it will be nice to be able to see and hear English again 😊
