Boarding day enjoying a couple of beers 25.2.2018 Drove 2 hrs from Isle of Portland to Southampton Airport and dropped little Jazz off then an Uber to the ship. Piles of people waiting to board, their ccomputer system was down, they had to MANUELLY check everyone in, but wasn't too bad and were on board for 2.00pm then set sail around 7.00pm, very late but made up time. Had two days at sea, including my birthday which was not too bad just a relaxing time, took in a couple of movies at the theatre, a couple of lectures and a few drinks etc, the days just went really fast.
28.2.1018 Arrived in Andalsnes...our first port of call....who would want to live in this god forsaken place! Not really abandoned but freezing, windy...could not get enough clothes on. Very pretty place really right up at the head of the Romdalsfjord and its majestic scenery. Took a bus out to Trolvegan (the Troll Wall), photos just do not do it justice, the shear drop of it is incredible...at 1200 metre drop it is the highest vertical drop in Northern Europe, they have had some heavy falls of snow here but today fortunately was bright and sunny, god knows what
ANDALSNES NORWAY
Walk around town looking down to the harbour it would have been like if there was no sun! Took the bus further on to the ski resort area of Bjorli which is located in the Gudbrand Valley, such a picturesque journey up the valley, snow was very deep and snow ploughs everywhere in action. Lovely afternoon tea of apple cake and coffee at one of the local hotels. Back on board by 5.30pm and heading for Tromso further north, another day at sea tomorrow.
