Amsterdam!
A city full of temptation. Where the drugs are legal, the beer ice cold and the ladies, well you can literally go window shopping for one of them!
It’s easy to see why people fall in love with this place, it’s not only for the legality of smoking weed on the street, it’s the little canals that weave through the city, it’s the thousands of people riding bikes, it’s the little water taxi’s or tour boats that weave their way through those canals.
They have Justin Beiber, Robert Patterson, and Lady Gaga all under one roof, dozens of people lining up to have their photos taken with these waxed beauties daily.
It is home to one of the most popular and widely exported beers in the world... Heineken! In fact Heineken first reached the shores of America 3 days after the end of prohibition and has remained there ever since. In the Heineken brewery you can be taken back to where it all began, listen as the list of ingredients are explained, take a virtual tour of how the beer its self is brewed, then a lesson on why it is poured with a certain level
of head, and how to drink it properly! But it doesn’t stop there; you are then invited to enjoy 2 more drinks on the house. Nothing quite like a cold hard beer after a long day exploring!
Castles and churches are in abundance across Europe and Amsterdam is no exception. Dam square lets to see the Royal Palace as well as old buildings converted into museums and shopping centres.
Amsterdam also has a serious side, one ravaged by war and filled with history. The Anne Frank House is one of those living memories of a time when the beauty of a city and freedom of its people was lost. For a small fee one can go back in time to see what it was like for the Frank family to live through the war and how they survived hidden for as long as they did, behind a bookshelf in secret back rooms, helped by their fathers employee/r. It also includes interviews with holocaust survivors, friends of Anne Frank, extracts of her diary and an interview with her father (the sole survivor after they were captured by the Nazi’ and put into concentration camps)
The streets are brimming
with people at all hours of the day, tourists eager to see and try out one of Amsterdam’s infamous coffee shops and men window shopping for a lady to entertain their desires. The red light district lined with streets of flesh baring ladies in red lighted windows and as many sex shops as ladies, allows one to for fill many of their desires. The woman will do anything to get ones attention including being starkers or touching herself seductively. For those not interested in the women, the cafes do not disappoint. From Brownies and cakes to joints, the friendly staff will help recommend you the right trip (mushrooms). A word of warning be mindful of where you are walking alone if you do walk alone at night. There are some areas in which women should not walk home alone after a night out.
Nights out in Amsterdam are a treat. Whether it’s an Australian bar, or a little bar down an ally, the beers are always cold and the mood just right. With so many tourists in the city it’s not often one will have a quiet night in the city (unless that’s what they’re looking for). Locals and
tourists alike enjoy the atmosphere and music of the Amsterdam night life.
Trips out of the city should not be missed, excursions to cheese factories, tulip farms and windmills will provide people with hours of entertainment in the smaller villages.
