World Cup Fans
This is just one small group of very excited Germans supporting their football team in the World Cup! Hi Everyone,
Wow its hard to believe that we've been over here for a month and its almost time to come home!
This trip has been so much fun (even with the lil road bumps) and we love all of our new friends, but we miss all of our family and friends back home so much and it will be great to see ya all again soon!
After Prague we hit the road for Munich, Germany
Along the way our tour guide told us some history of Germany and mentioned that we were going to be staying an hour away from Dachau, a real concentration camp but we wouldn't be stopping there. Well we were in shock, we HAD to go, and some other people felt the same way. When our tour guide realized this she took a vote and we all agreed to change the itinerary and stop there and she even gave us a tour!!! This was not required of her, but she wanted to do this for us because she saw how much this mattered and because she is such a nice tour guide! Visiting Dachau was the most moving experience that we've ever had! Taryne was
1 Pint Steins!
Yea we're big beer drinkers, just kidding! in tears and Loni is watering up right now writting this! The sign on the gates entering Dachau read "Work Will Set You Free" in German, but as we all know this was not true, although this particular camp was known as a work camp, not an extermination camp. Even still there were gas chambers, that we walked through and got sick to our stomachs at the thought of the innocent people that went in there all because of their religion. It made us thankful that we are alive and able to keep their memory living and not forgotten.
Now i'm sure you are wondering why our title says "Lucy and Ethel Explosion" and here it comes, when we got on the bus Taryne did a routine check of how much memory was left on the digital camera, and the darn thing decided to REFORMAT itself for no apparent reason!!!! Say bye bye to all of our pictures from the Boujorle Wine Region, French Riveria, Italy (except for Rome, because we had disposable cameras that day from our last Lucy moment when Loni's camera was stollen) and bye bye to Greece... 😞
Thank goodness we have the first half
Switzerland View
Here we are on the balcony of our Challet of the journey backed up, and the other half on a different card!
After the moving time we spent in Dachau we headed into Munich, where Germany was playing "football" in the world cup that evening in town. Man was it crazy!!!!! But also very very exciting!
We also went to a real beer hall this night where we watched traditional German dancing girls and had a traditional German meal, along with our 1 PINT of Beer!!!! The guys in our group loved this!
The next day we hit the road to go to Switzerland!
On our way we stopped in the country known as Lichtenstein, its Switzerland's little sister. I didn't even know it was a real country let alone a real place!!! So cute!!!
We absolutely positively loved Switzerland!
Taryne and I agreed that it was the most beautiful place that we had ever been to!
The moutains were stunning with white caps of snow, and there were beautiful lush green hillsides as far as the eye could see.
We stayed in a Challet that was surrounded on three sides with mountins and had an amazing waterfall right of the side of the nearest mountain.
Taryne,
Waterfalls
Here we are in front of just one of the waterfalls Loni, our friends Melissa and Shane decided that we would spend our free day in Switzerland bikeriding all around and up to the Tremleback Waterfalls. Wow were these waterfalls amazing!!!! We took an elevator right up the inside of the mountain and then climbed down tons and tons of stairs, each leading to another of 10 different falls to see. It was sooooo coool!!!! Taryne and Loni decided that seeing the waterfalls wasn't enough, we wanted to feel one too! So we leaned in and got sprayed from head to toe, what fun!
Then on our way back we got separated, and by the time Loni got back she found out from other friends that Taryne had done the unthinkable, she decided to jump out of a helicopter 12,000 ft in the air!
Well.... not just jump without thinking, she did bring with her a trained instructor and most importantly a parachuete!!!
She described it as the most amazing feeling in the world! And if you don't believe that she really did it, she has pictures and a movie to prove it!
So yea, we discussed and confirmed that Switzerland is now our most favorite place in the entire

Loni Taryne Shane and Melissa having a relaxing lunch near the river created by the cool waterfalls world! 😊
We left bliss and arrived in Germany again for a short stopover, it was beautiful, but sorry nothing compares to the Swiss Alps...
This morning we saw the worlds biggest Cookoo clock and Beerstein before leaving the little town of Heidleberg.
Then we were on to the Netherlands.
We stoped along the way and our whole group had a nice leisurely bike ride along the cannals in Holland, and we even saw a real windmill!!! So cool!
Then we saw how cheese and clogs were made.
I think that I am the only person that was really really excited about clogs, but who cares i got real wood dutch clogs (and they look normal so i can wear them every day! hehehe)
Now we are officially in Amsterdam and I'm sure your wondering why only Loni is writting this blog...
Well.... Amsterdam is known for several things, maybe you think of Tulips or windmills, but many young adults also think of it being a place where Marijuana is "legale" and the red light district... DON'T WORRY, we are still your good girls and will not be going into any Coffee Shops to smoke weed, but our tour
Skydiving
Taryne and friends about to go skydiving! does have a unlisted excursion to an "adult show" and of course the entire group decided that this was a must see! Except for Loni, because well, if you know me, then you know why this wasn't a must see 4 me....
So yea, tomorow we will be going to try on lots and lots of diamonds, and then going for a cannal bike ride, hopefully visiting Anne Frank's house, doing more shopping, going on a river cruise and then having a farewell dinner with all of our new friends!
Taryne sends her love to you all and so do I!
And in 2 days time we will be back giving you all lots of hugs and kisses!!!! 😊
