St. Eusebius Church Hey everyone! Just yesterday I wrapped up my visit to St. Eusebius Church quite nicely. I have taken many pictures of it since I arrived in Arnhem and yesterday I also took a short video of myself in the very top of the tower. St. Eusebius Church is the largest church and building in Arnhem, standing at 93 meters tall. It is also the most "tourist friendly"church anyone is likely to visit. One reason is it's glass elevator lift that travels up the center of the tower to the very top, allowing viewers an excellent view of it's vast collection of bells along the way. It is indeed the only Church in the world with such a convenient lift. The church itself still holds sunday services in the main hall. Mirjam tells me ... read more

By now, I am sure everyone is curious on how things are going between myself and Mirjam (Pronounced as Miryam), the dutch woman I met online and started dating over a year ago. As my flight began to land in Dusseldorf, my anxiety reached a peak. I knew that the moment I got my luggage and left the terminal, I would finally meet her. When I stepped through the double doors leading off the terminal and saw her, an unexplainable calm flooded through my body. To cut a long and seemingly endless embrace and a following train ride to Arnhem short, we immediately clicked, despite the fact we only now just met for the first time. It has been a week this very day since I first met her, and I can say to all of ... read more

Hello everyone! Since you all begged for information, and more particularly, photos! I have decided to post specific topics at a time, and mix the photos up as much as I can so as to annoy you all back home thoroughly! I want to start off with a topic that came to mind the very first moment I stepped into Arnhem. European Contrasts - Arnhem A contrast by definition is a thing that is strikingly dissimilar to another. When I first stepped off the train into Arnhem, I was overwhelmed at all the contrasts. Contrasts not only between things in the US versus Europe, but also the things on one side of the street, and the things on the other. Arnhem is an ancient city located in the Gelderland state of the Netherlands. It is a ... read more

Hey guys! First of all, I would like to apologize for taking so long to post on here. The first three days here have been oh so wonderfully overwhelming! My flight was long but comfortable, I highly recommend Lufthansa. To be honest, I was the most nervous and hyper when I first stepped off the plane into Germany. For I knew in a few moments I would meet for the first time, Mirjam. When I stepped out of the exit and saw her, we embraced tightly before we even exchanged words. It's been a few days and so far, my expectations of this relationship have been greatly exceeded. Also, to my own surprise and satisfaction. Stepping into Europe and the people's way of life here has been very becoming of me. The crowds don't seem to ... read more

After saying the goodbyes to the earth ship crew I ended up catching the train to Arnhem (initially I was intending to ride my bike but I was a bit slow in getting everything done that day). I had decided to do couch surfing again since I had such a nice experience in Gronigen. Everyone at the Earthship had said how awesome the Kruller Muller museum was so I decided to check it out. Was met by Margreeth at the central station of Arnhem and we rode our bikes to her house. She was so friendly and her place was very gezllig -cosy. She was living in place that was rented out to people at a discount rate so that squatters didn't live there. As a result she had quite a few rooms and I got ... read more

Couldn't get up to say goodbye to Carol! ahhhhhh....but called her... well, will see her during Chinese New Years so it wont be too long...heeee Chi was so nice to drive me to the train station! So I hopped on the train and went to Arnhem, a city near the border of Germany. The city is really....boring? I went to the tourist info and besides museums and one church, they can't recommend anything else to me!...Oh well, my original plan was to go to the National Park anyways..haaa! The closest one is really close! 15 mins bus ride! Nationaal Park De Hoge Veluwe, with 5000Hectares of land..... There is this museum up north of the park, which is like 10km away from the entrance. Good that they have free bikes to ride! so I did a ... read more
