Yesterday I went on a little day trip to Verona, and it is considered one of the most beautiful places in northern Italy for a reason! It is just how you might picture a little Italian city, all pretty buildings and balconies, lots of steps and parks with fountains. Throw in a Roman-looking ruin with strange Egyptian sphinxes out front (a play they are doing) and you have yourself Verona. I even went to Juliet's house! It's pretty amazing, there is a courtyard and on the way in is an alcove absolutely covered in love-graffiti! Paper notes and hearts and Ti àmos all over the place, it is quite astonishing. I even went up into the Capulet house where there is all kinds of memorabilia, things from the Romeo and Juliet films of the 50s and some period furniture.
In the courtyard is a statue of Juliet, which I took a photo by, but it seems the thing to do is hold her arm and cup her right breast for any photos. You can tell because a) that is what everyone was doing and b) the metal is extra shiny from all the rubbing. I guess it's good Juliet is still
Egypt?Egypt?
Egypt?

They have a Roman-style colloseum and these Egyptian things for a show they're putting on... too much at once
getting some, even after her Romeo is gone!

I spent today doing a whole lotta walking and a whole lotta nothing so far, trying to make sure I dont get sick. I have developed the Saugeen cough... you know, the living with far too many people, touching the same things, and breathing the same air, all for too long. Metro stations and random internet cafes arent much better though; my mini hand sanitizer is my friend.
The day I spent in Milan touring around, before Verona, was a good day. I walked all over, climbed up the top of the Duomo (this one is really intricate) and hung out on the roof. I went to the Castello too, and I was really impressed! the place is huge, plus there are all these civic museums, old exhibits, da vinci stuff, egypt, indoamerica, and even a musical instruments museum. I spent a lot of time in there, all for the cheap 1.50 euros, which is pretty freakin good. After that I went window shopping. Didnt buy anything though because clothes are tricky to pack. I dont know how it happened but despite the tiny things I have collected on my travels,

A lot of the people here are tourists, but just as many are locals just hanging out
my bag just wont pack the same and is like 3lbs heavier than it was before, and I cant figure how! Now I have the trouble of possibly having to check my bag, if they wont let me take it as carry-on, which would suck. Not to mention the strick Air Canada I have for the way back!
Tomorrow I catch my flight to Paris, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAURA!!

OH my photos didnt work, damn, I will get them working eventually, even if it is on the 29th when I am at home.
OH and Jayna, I read this really great book while I was on Ios, one of the Brit guys lent it to me you might like it I wrote the name down for you.
