On route to Venice today, we stopped first at Lake Lugano for a stroll along the lake and the cobbled stone village streets. We enjoyed real Italian coffee and scrumptious Italians pastries and biscuits.
Our next stop was the medieval town of Lugano, setting of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. We explored the shops and markets as we made our way to view Juliet’s house and balcony.
We arrived at the mainland of Venice later that afternoon. Most of the group chose to have an early night; some of the group travelled to the Island of Venice for an Italian dinner and a tour of Venice by night.
