Another pretty view
We are now in a place called Lake Garda, which is a little bit smaller than Lake Taupo. We are staying at a pretty nice hotel, which makes a nice change from the hostels we have been at. Sharing a room however means that it is only slightly more each than the crappy hostel we were in in Rome. Here we have a nice room, our own bathroom, nice beds and a pool! The weather has turned up to the party aswell which is great considering it rained our last 3 days in Florence. It was a bit sad to leave Florence, it is a very cool city, great vibe, great people and lots of fun. We had a couple of huge nights there and meet heaps of people.

Yesterday Matt got it into his head that it would be a really good idea to hire scooters and ride the 160km right around the lake! Hayden and I, the rational part of the crew, thought that this was prehaps a little bit dodgy, considering we would be on unfamiliar vehicles on unfamiliar roads and on the wrong side of the road! Matt was determined and would not be swayed into

About to enter, we only really wanted to see the Sistine Chapel! And we did! Very cool stuff.
perhaps a shorter 3 or 6 hour ride. What could we do? So anyway we found a place that would hire us 3 scooters at 50 Euro each, pretty good really. Off we went! It didn't take too long to get the hang of the little beasts and driving on the wrong side of the road wasn't actually as bad as I thought, as long as you kept your wits about you! We had a great ride, the northern end of the Lake was amazingly beautiful, the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen. Huge mountains rise up out of the blue water, the town was stunning, very picturesque. We managed to get around in about 6 hours and had no major problems. Matt got honked by a police car! And Hayden got to honk Italian stye at a car which pulled out in front of him. It was a great day. Then we retired to home and had a nice long swim in the pool. This is real backpacking I tell ya!

Other than that we haven't done much here, just enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere. There are heaps of great resturants and bars around. Last night we ate at

Couldn't take pics inside the actual Chapel, but there was alot of art work around the place.
a great little place where I had Spinach and Ricotta raviolli, which was outstanding, and only 7.50euro, not bad!

Tomorrow we are heading to Venice, we are staying at a camp site outside the city which will save us alot of money and the place sounds really nice. Again it has a pool and stuff to do right there so should be good.

Right, I'm going to try to add photos all the way back from Rome, so bare with me! Don't forget to check out the video too. (top left of entry)
