some of you know and some of you didn't hear yet so ' let me tell you all the details.
after 3 months in Israel (long long long months) I have decided to change my plans and give Europe a chance...
the first thing I did was to look for a farm to wwoof in in Italy (wwoof = volunteering in organic farm in exchange for accommodation and food)
so, I found a family in Tuscany. A family that hardly speaks English so i will force my self to speak Italian. in the last few days i'm here -I found out they do speak English but still, my Italian had improved...
so - what do i do here? I work at the fields with Saverio - the family's father. we plant vegetables, installing an irrigation system (as usual with me - the weather is abnormal..we have here the worst drought in 30 years, so - it's the first time irrigation is needed in April...)
I've arrived here few days ago on a dark night and didn't leave our farm yet (will happen in 2 hours and I am excited). not true. i did leave the farm -
on my first day we WALKED back from the fields - 40 min. UP THE HILL... yeah... it's me we are talking about here.. we were walking up the hill and stopped for a rest at a neighbor's house to rest... we ( o.k. they) had a nice chat - gossiping and all, yeah, it looked like a movie!!! i was sitting there minding my own business and then i have realized - one guy was checking me out!! apparently i was "introduced" to the only single man in the village.. well, by the looks of him - lucky me i was introduced to farming in 30 C and walking up the hill first so - no worries there -I won't need any use of sticks to chase him away. the only one here who behaves like a mythological Italian stud is Moro - he is all over me, follows me wherever I go, sits really close to me... they say he usually prefer women to men but - this looks like true love. i think he's just keeping an eye on me like a good farm dog has to do - i am a stranger to the family...
this wwoofing thing is very interesting - few evenings ago i just walked into a family's life. they are very nice and helping me feel at home. we work together 7-12, then we cook lunch and i'm off for the rest of the day so i help with dinner, i'm trying to watch movies in Italian. no. i do watch - i'm trying to understand... the family has no TV - only DVD because TV is not so good for you (and I agree)...they have a dial up internet connection so the internet is VERY slow and - the computer is in the master bed room... that's another way of keeping un wanted guests and the kids away!!
my flat has 2 doors - one goes outside (hardly used) and the other one is to the houses kitchen.what a stunning view!!! (o.k. the window view of Tuscany is not that bad, too)...
