Siena!!!
Che bella citta! I arrived in Seina, and what a beautiful city! It surrounded by villas and farms and little towns on rolling hillsides! I am staying on just the outskirts of the city, and it is so beautiful! The veiw! The garden! Oh my!
I went into the center just for a while today. I was so exhausted! But I walked around the main piazza called Il Campo. Each year in July they have a famous horse race there called palio. This city is much smaller than the others I have visited so far. Much more tranquile! (until someone scores in a world cup game then the noise coming from the bars is quite boisterous!) I also walked to Il Duomo. It was simply breathtaking. And from there I just wandered around wherever it looked like a pretty street or like it might be a pretty view.
My host drove me to town today.... check this out... on a harley! Haha! I'm mobin' through the Tuscany country side on a freakin Harley!!! Not a vespa a for-real-harley-davidson! It just cracks me up! But he owns this nice little place I am staying, there is a bus to the city,
but he was going into town, so he offered me a ride! Fun fun! but I actually got bug juice on my glasses (but don't worry I have a helmet!)
Siena 2-
I got to go on a little driving tour through the Tuscan country side! (in a car this time!) It was SO beautiful! The hills and old villas! Some still lived in, some remodeled, some abandoned. But it was simply amazing! Really breathtaking.
Afterwards I took the bus into the center... that was an adventure in itself. I didnt realize whenthe bus had reached its last stop, it just changed number fliped a bitch and went wayyyyy out of town the other direction... I was so confused! Agh! Then I had to get off and take another bus back to the center. But then I wasnt sure of where to take the bus from to get back home again!
So it was kind of a rainy day today, but it’s not cold so it’s ok! I walked around Il campo and the duomo again. Ate gelato... again... I took some nice pictures and got a cheap pizza slice! Mmm! There seem to be a ton of Americans here!
I guess they have 5 language schools here so a lot of people come to study Italian there, and it is such a small town compared to the other cities I have been to so far so I guess they just stick out. But i had a nice day, and then went back to the country side to relax, read, and take in the scenery!
I had some Brunello wine today. I had never heard of it, but apparently it is a famous aged wine made from certain grapes and only in this certain area. Apparently it is SUPER spendy (like 100 euros bottle!!! WHA!?!)
I wish I had gotten a chance to go to the places Hannah had told me to visit while I was there but I couldn’t remember the names! So maybe I’ll go tomorrow!

Ok... so now I’m getting a little sick of this rain! Seriously! What happened to “Under the Tuscan Sun”? It is cold now... Not freezing or anything, but still not nice! I really am not sure if the bus runs at all on Sunday... I walked to the bus stop and realized that I wasnt sure... so I conteded
to walk around the country side until it REALLY started to rain! But it was actually nice to get to spend some time NOT walking! Just read a book, take a nap, relax... ah this is the life!
