After our trip to the Il Borro winery we headed to Montepulciano, where we were to spend the night at another winery. We finally got there. This guest house was definitely the nicest place we stayed during the trip. However, it was in the middle of the winery, which made navigation difficult. By the time we got there I was getting super crabby since I had pretty much not eaten anything that day. The owner of the winery had arranged for us to have dinner in the actual town on Montepulciano, which is basically a town on a hill. Since it was dark by this point, navigation once again proved difficult. Finding the restaurant was also difficult. The dinner was excellent, and I was feeling better after getting a little bit of food and drink into my system. It was pretty late by the time we left, and the town was pretty quiet by the time we left. The residents of Montepulciano were keen to let us know that the Italy part of the New Moon movie was filmed there. That is right, poor Volterra, even though it IS a real place (I looked it up!) did not get to play

unfortunately these pictures didn't come out too well because of the dark
itself! And I must say, after being in Montepulciano after dark, I can see how they would have filmed a movie about vampires there. With the creepiness factor in mind, we didn’t linger long after dinner… We did make it back to the winery which was pretty much a miracle in the dark!
