Sin e Bar
Matt (Canadian) with a pint of Guinness Well I have not written in a while and the reason for that is because my room mate moved his computer into his room, and now I don’t feel right for using him computer (before it was on the kitchen table for all to use when he was there and when he was not). I also hardly ever get the chance to come to the internet café anymore.
So about my life so far in Dublin… there have not been a lot of things on the go, well at least that I can remember now. I went to a bar Sin e. It was a fun night where a group of us from the hostel got together.
I have been working a lot. Last week most of the shifts were night shifts; it is not as busy, so for training they felt that would be better. One of the good things is I worked a lot of 3- close shifts. The good thing about this is whoever works this shift gets to work in the theatre from 8-close. You are busy before the show and at intermission but for the rest of the show you get to watch it for free.

Sarah, Jay and me The first night I worked there was a comedy show, the next night a Jazz show (I didn’t see the whole thing because they closed the bar because there was hardly anyone there), and the last show I saw it was a Cabaret singer from New York, who now lives in Dublin (Diana Davis). Work has been pretty good besides that. I still am having a bit of trouble sometimes with getting the milk exactly right but I guess that is all to come. Also I still have not perfected the leaf design but sometimes I can get it to come out in the shape of a heart. Now that I’m getting the hang of it work has become more enjoyable.
Two nights ago there was a work party with all of the business’ that are in the building (Bewely’s, and 2 restaurants). I was not going to go, because I worked until 10 and then I had to work at 7 the next morning, but I figured you’re only in Dublin once so you my as well make the most out of it. It was not a good morning; I was very tired and had to get a nap

Yasha (Jay's friend from California) when I got home.
Three days ago Jay and I went to Dublin Jail called Kilmainham Gaol. It was very interesting, however the guide talked a lot of people that lived were in the jail who had to do with the Irish history and where I have never studied the history here I didn’t know half the names that he has mentioned. He did mention that the youngest prisoner that they had there was 6 YEARS OLD! He also mentioned that during the Irish famine, people actually tried to be put into jail because here the at least got a descent meal, 3 times a day (the only jail around Ireland that did this). After the tour finished we went to the jail café. It kind of felt weird eating there just because it was a jail, but the cheesecake was good! J
The other day Jay and I took the Dart up to a place called Howth (Rhymes with both). It was absolutely breathtaking. It is a fishing village, which has a lighthouse, so it reminded me a lot of home.
Today I had the day off and it was an absolutely beautiful day, which I had off. I

James (Australian) and Tatiana (Russian). Tatiana is one of Sarah and Jay's room mates got up and went to the park to finish reading the 3rd book of the clan of the cave bear series. The book was good, now onto the next one. It was so relaxing. I then went to Christchurch cathedral where I did the self guided tour. It was beautiful! Some parts of the church date back to 1172. The cathedral was originally founded by the Normans under the leadership of Strongbow, in 1030. None of the church from back then exists today. You could also go into the crypts. It was very neat in there. I watched a short film about the church and it said in there that the crypt was first used as a market place for selling alcohol and food.
That is about all that I can think about. If I think of more of what I have done over the past few days I will post it.
This weekend Sarah, Jay and I are planning a trip to Galway!
