We were in the Northern Uplands of Hungary and we continued northwards through the hilly country to Szilvasvarad which is well known as a breeding centre for the famous Lippizaner white horses and for carriage driving. We were able to visit the centre, look at a display of the coaches and come close and friendly with some of the horses.

It was then onwards to the limestone Aggtelek national park and its 22km Baralda cave. We took an hour long, 1k tour and have to say that compared with other show caves we have seen we were not particularly impressed. However there is another longer underground walk that we plan to do tomorrow so our views may change.
