We crossed into Hungary and visited what is regarded as Hungary’s most outstanding monastery which is situated on the Sacred Mount of Pannonhalma. It was founded in 996 by the Benedictine Order and has several enlargements and refurbishments over the centuries. It is now a boy’s secondary school run by the monks.
