Ruff Riders Roll....
Our Quading adventure saw us tour the northern part of the island. From the peak of Ios to the tomb of Homer, it was quite the Odyssey Tired of our days of rest in Santorini, we voyaged to the backpacking / party isle of Ios. Where, true to its description, we partied and backpacked.
Allow me to lead you through our days:
wake up at 1pm.
get frustrated that the captain remains asleep
burn self at pool
eat spaghetti
take a nap
go up in flames and make way to rehab
dance and sing and drink
repeat
Drink of choice? Flaming Lamborghinis...approximately 4 or 5 a night, we reckon.
Flames and Rehab remind me of Carrot Top the comedian. While not human, nor prop comics, the bars really seemed to focus on props in order to excite their patrons:
Throwing napkins
foam spraying from the ceiling at the climax of the umbrella song
flourescent paint
sporadicly lighting the bar on fire
hiding vampigs (vampire pigs that are afraid of the light and sulk in the cool corners of the bar)
Truthfully, the two days where the Captain and I didnt sleep were the highlights. We hired some day vehicles (Quads) and went voyaging the island breaking numerous traffic laws (which is technically driving like a local). We went far north and paid a visit to
Homer's (Ilyad, the Odyssey) final resting space where we made homage via stone structures. Mine was Strength through Longevity, whereas the Captain had Balance in Tranquility.
The day we left the island, the Captain and I reenacted numerous scenes from Under Seige and Collateral Damage on a banana boat. The Brit chicks we were with were very impressed...especially when I went face first into their ass...
Next stop...Athens!!
