Woke up to this whaling alarm sound - there was a bunch of ruckus outside of the hostel and I was scared they was going to be a riot in the Monastiraki (aka ghetto)... It turned off after a few minutes - we never found out what it was for.

Outside it was super busy. We could tell we were in the ghet because of all the hardware stores selling chain saws. Seriously every other store was a hardware strore.

The Acropolis was amazing - its still hard to believe we are in Greece!! We walked around the Plaka and realized why everyone told us to stay there!! Its a far cry from the Monastiraki - winding stone streets with cute little sidewalk cafe's everywhere. We even found a Starbucks!!! Thank God!!! I was starting to have withdrawls.

That night we had dinner in the Plaka the food was unbelievable!! I had some greek lamb dish that was ono grinds (really tasty). They light up the Acropolis at night and we could see it from our rooftop bar - unbelievable.
