Igel

While we were waiting for the rest of our friends to arrive we had a stroll into the village centre of Igel. It has a quite famous Roman Column and we were surprised and delighted to find that the annual fete and musical festival was taking place in a small square at its base. We were made welcome by the locals and from various stalls we had an excellent lunch of goulash soup, Mosel red wine and to finish homemade cake and coffee. Unexpected treats like this are one of the joys of our travelling

The afternoon was spent watching Murray losing the French Open Final and by the end of the day everyone had found their way to the campsite.
