River Saar

The morning was spent on a 20 mile cycle ride in the opposite direction along the river through beautiful scenery. Although we didn’t reach our hoped for destination we really enjoyed it.

After lunch we left our camper stop on its attractive riverside location and drove round 13 hairpins under a chairlift which goes up to a plateau overlooking the river. Up there is a campsite which turned out to be more of a holiday camp and was not really to our taste, particularly as the next door farmer had been manuring one of his fields and an unpleasant odour pervaded the area. The reason for moving was so that we could use their launderette and those facilities proved to be excellent.
