We had been travelling for a week most of the time without a launderette or internet connection so we spent the morning catching up on washing and blog posting.
Then it was into Soest to enjoy a lunch of snitzle, potatoes and spargle (asparagus – it’s in season and nearly every restaurant has a special mention using it). Being suitably fortified we spent a delightful afternoon wandering along the streets lined by half-timbered buildings whilst visiting most of the many interesting and unusual churches all of which are built in the local green sandstone.
