AUSTRIA - MUNICH
We were supposed to spend tonight at the Black Forest, however it was pouring with rain so we decide to stop in Munich for the night. We found a hotel in Munich, prettied ourselves up and headed for the popular Hofbrauhaus beer hall. It was the ultimate cliche of beer halls, the staff were dressed in German outfits and there was a band playing folk music, it was packed and rowdy. All the tables were full so we looked for a table with spare seats and young people. We ended up sitting with some friendly, drunk, crazy Austrians. Some how we ended up at the drunkest, loudest, craziest table. Beer came in 1L mugs and I got through nearly 3L that night, it was nasty!

BLACK FOREST
Today was still pouring with rain and we both felt very unwell. Somehow we managed to drive to the Black Forest. We went via Heuschwanstein Castle (inspired Disneys Fantasy Castle) we didnt walk up to the castle or go inside because it was pouring with rain and we felt unwell. We carried on to Triberg and arrived at 1600, we checked out the pretty
town and its many Cuckoo Clock shops. We spent the night in a big old barn house run by a really old couple who spoke no English and only had hot water, owchy!

BLACK FOREST - CHAMONIX
This morning we checked out the worlds largest Cuckoo Clock and drove 30 mins to Schiltach which is supposed to be the Black Forests prettiest town. We then headed to Chamonix to Cindy and Torstins house.
On the way to Chamonix we got to experience the autobarn with its unlimited speed limit. Ferraris look so good when they fly past at 200km/hr. We arrived at Cindy and Torstins around 2030 and it turned out they lived in an apartment on the top floor. We got to meet Marwin who is three and was a little confused by the strange people who couldnt speak German.

CHAMONIX
This morning Marwin went to his grandmothers and Cindy and Torstin went to work. We spent the morning catching up on laundry and jobs then went for a walk into Chamonix city centre, it was a lovely centre. When Cindy and Torstin got home from work they took us to
their little bungalow which is located within a large community garden and has little lakes full of carp.

PRAGUE
Today we drove to Prague in the Czech Republic. We arrived at Camp Sohol Troja around 1300, set up camp then caught the tram into town. We crossed the popular Charles Bridge (Karluv Most) built in 1357 and graced by 30 statues from the 18th century. We then headed up the hill to the Prague Castle where we walked in the courtyards and gardens and watched the changing of the guard. We then headed down hill and checked out the 'Piss' sculpture with two men piddling in a puddle shaped like the Czech Republic, there abdomen and penis moved also! Back across the bridge to the old town we saw the Astronomical clock (1410). We arrived just on the hour to see its bell ringing skeleton and parade of apostles.

PRAGUE - KARLOV VARY - CHAMONIX
This morning we headed back into Prague. We checked out the Old Jewish Quarter which consists of an old and new Synagogue, a Jewish Museum and cemetry. We had a look at some shops then left Prague.
We drove Karlovy Vary which is an old spa district located on the Tepla River. We went to a local spa and had a soak in the indoor thermal relaxation pool which was flash but not that hot. Afterwards we brought a spa cup and sampled the various hot springs along with many others. The water had a very strong, disgusting flavour! From here we drove back to Cindy and Torstins.

CHAMONIX- NUREMBERG RING - RHINE VALLEY
We left Cindy and Torstins in the morning and drove over 5hrs from Eastern to Western Germany. We drove first to the Nuremburg Ring where we paid 22 euro for one lap in our speedy 1.6L diesal Peugeot. From there we drove to the Rhine Valley and camped in Koblenz on the Rhine River.

MOSELLE VALLEY
Today we drove from Koblenz through ther Mosel Valley along the Moselle River towards Luxembourg. The Moselle was bursting at the seems with historical sites and picturesque towns built along the river below steep rocky cliffs planted with vineyards (they say that locals are born with one leg shorter than the other so that they can easily work the
vines). After following the river for most of the day, we headed across the boarder to Luxembourg and stayed at Camping Luxembourg-Kockelscheurer, close to Luxembourg City.
