We managed to get up early (not much drinking the day before) , hooray! We moved to the new room (a private one this time) and left for Potsdam. It takes about 40-50 minutes to get there on S-Bahn lines – we got to the Potsdam Hauptbahnhof. Some guides suggested getting a bus to get to the main attraction in Potsdam – the Sanssouci Park, but there is no need – it’s perfectly within the walking distance. On our way there we went through the Dutch Quarter – a tiny bit of the Netherlands is always welcome.

The park itself was full of people – a bit surprising since it was January. We didn’t go into the palace, there were people queuing, but we have decided to skip it. Instead we went to a small Botanic Garden (2 EUR entrance fee to the glass houses – tickets are sold inside, don’t go around looking for the ticket office). The town itself was a bit empty, probably more is going on there during the summer.
