The weather was still great and with a little information from the Internet I took the chance to visit the mountain Nebelhorn in Oberstdorf. The cable car is opened only until Nov. 2nd, thats why I decided to make the trip today.

The Nebelhorn (2.224 m) is the highest mountain in the Allgäu Alps in Germany, near to the village of Oberstdorf. It lends its name to the Nebelhorn Trophy figure skating competition.

I started from Ottobeuren to Oberstdorf via A7 and A980 and later on via B19, alltogether the route is approxm. 73km long - BUT - if you ever consider to go there too: be aware! The traffic is bad, verrry bad.
It took me almost 3 hours to reach Oberstdorf... and there was stop and go traffic all the way. To Oberstdorf - and - of course as well in the eveing backwards. But if you choose the way over Tiefenbach it is ok, it leads you over the small villages and the route is a bit longer but you dont ruin your nerves with a stop and go traffic 😉

Near to the cable car you can find enough parking space and with some

meters by feet you already reach the valley station. Three choices of oing up: the first line goes from the valley station to station "Seealpe" in 1280 meters, which is nothing spectacular, but after that it continues to the second station "Höfatsblick" in 1932 meter height. From there you can walk up (1-2 hours) or go again by cable car up to the last station at the top in 2224 meters height.

Up and down the way costs 25 Euro for one person - and - there were a lot of people who have had the same idea as I have had... so the time to get into the cabl car was ~ 1 hour... back it took 1 1/2 hours.
But it was worth to do it! It was just great and I enjoyed that trip very much!!

I have chosen to walk down to the second station, as it looked not too difficult from the cable car - well, it was ok, but not so easy as I thought.... Next morning my legs remembered me of the trip I made on Sunday 😉 ouch... my muscles were paining!!

Ok and - here are some photos
