After a further drive of 350k we arrived in the early afternoon at a campsite just outside the fishing port and resort of St-Jean-de-Luz in the French Basque region close to the Spanish border.

We walked via the cliff tops into the town, then along the promenade by an attractive curved beach and finally arrived at the port. We dined on locally caught anchovies and sardines at one of the many fish restaurants.
