Today Saturday, we were the only two in the breakfast room. the food was plentiful. After we put yesterday's story on the travelblog we tried to Skype with our small grand daughter, but she wrote us that she has no microphone or webcam yet. Pity- they grow so quickly at this age, it would have been so nice to see her. We than went with the car to the old town, which is just up the road. Ha, that became just a trip out of the Hotel car park and back again. Parking places are like Hen's teeth-niks-nada. It appears as if the whole of Europe stops here. So we took the bus and tram arrived in the hustle and bustle of the old city. It is not Archaeological old, stately baroque, lovely. Everyone must have lunch, coffee and beer it appeared because the many restaurants and cafe's etc do a lively trade. We saw some interesting food on the tables. Cooked in mini pots served like that. And soups in strange looking contraptions. Yes the French are known for their food. And .... there are lots of shops, all with special deals. Liz has been looking for white pants for a while, and low and behold, there was the old European store of C& A who provided the long awaited pants, nice and cheap. A very happy lady Liz was so was I. So Liz is writing because, I was making fun of it. The city of Grenoble originated around 300 AD and in some of the oldest sections, you can see the old giant stones it was build with. We were a bit careful about walking distance not to risk the old legs of Liz. Tomorrow we are going on the way to Spain, but no autobahns this time, we want to travel country roads, so it will take a lot longer. Instead of five it will take nine hours. But you will see more of the country. So who knows where we will Finnish up for the night. Interesting. Bye for now until next time Liz & Allan
