Nic and I headed south towards Spain today. Today must have been the first official day of summer because half of Europe was on the road with us. The driving was very slow going, but it was pleasant because we had good weather for once. The further south we got, the nicer the countryside was. When we reached within 60 miles of our destination, the rolling hills turned into vast canyons and mountains. Everything was green and lush. It almost looked like some painting of the French Countryside.
Our hostel was located in a small village on the border of France and Spain. There were old vineyards and sheep on the hills. Each small village had an old church in the middle of it. On every hour and half hour the bells rung and you could hear them echo through the canyons. The village that we where staying in is very rural. As I write this, a storm is moving through these mountains providing an impressive lightning and thunder show. We are heading to bed early tonight, so we can get an early start to see the Running of the Bulls.

minuteman
Hey Matt, Rick want to know if you will be running with the "minutemen" in Pamplona??? Yeah, You were with all of the Dutch on "The Route du Solei" with all of their trailers to the campgrounds in the south of France, The Costa del Sol, and the Algarve. They will sit in a campground for whole month, bake in the sun til they shrivel like raisins, smoke cigarettes and drink beer by the gallon. All else aside the Pyrianees are beautiful; just look out for those Basques. I've heard they like sheep. Vin
