Tandy was rocked by wind last night then hammered with rain but it seems to have got it out of its system as all ok again when we got up, quite early as we had a train to catch. Fortunate we were in plenty of time as we discovered there were 2 more Irish traveller caravans, which had arrived late last night and been barred entry, parked outside the gate blocking it. Oops. They were ‘persuaded’ to let us out. Not a pleasant experience we would willingly choose to repeat. Got to the Chunnel in excellent time and boarded an earlier train than booked. In France by 10am or 11am after we’d adjusted our watches. Easy drive down through the massive arable fields of Normandy. Such a pleasure to drive on roads which are not clogged ... read more
