Golf Cannes de Mandilue
Craig outside the golf course Today we had a very very long trip to make, 9.5 hours to be precise. Knowing Craig however, he would love the long drive. Heading from Paris to Marseille, we reached Lyon and decided that the extra hour and a half was doable to make it to Cannes. We decided to do this because we had been told by our aussie friends in Paris that there are many argentinian gypsies around Marseille that tend to break into campervans etc, so to avoid any problems we thought we would head straight to where Craig was playing golf in the morning.
The drive was lovely, and we cannot express how much relief we felt once driving out of Paris and into the countryside. However, for those who would be travellers going from Paris to Cote D'Azure (French Riviera), we would strongly suggest breaking it into two days and avoiding the TOLL CHARGES - as our total cost of tolls for the drive to Cannes ended up being approximately €85. It makes for a much faster drive and the roads are much better but it burns a hole in your pocket.
Arriving in Cannes we did not have much idea where
Paris to Cannes
Views driving from Paris to Cannes to stay, so we looked up in the TRUSTY LONELY PLANET GUIDE and it recommended a campsite, so we simply looked that site up; in tomtom and he found where to go. Arriving safely and easily at our site, the gentleman drove his little golf buggy down to show us where to park- it was a gorgeous green grassy area filled with beautiful trees that made for a really lovely campsite. Plus the showers and toilets were quite nice too. The only complaint could be that close to our little oasis of trees was the highway so you could hear the traffic, but when in the campervan it wasn't too bad. We stayed here for two nights.

Surfs up
Loks like the surf was up in Cannes. Loved the camp site but a litle packed for my liking. Where were all the people on the beach?
