They came (well most of them), they saw, they conquered and now they're left and Kev, myself & Keith are at Hong Kong airport waiting for our plane to Sydney. The presence of family members only really seemed to last a short time nevertheless it was brilliant while it lasted. Early Saturday morning Katherine, Thomas, Sienna & Evie piled into their hire car for the drive to Nice to catch the plane back to Copenhagen; I've since heard from them to say they are safely back home. Then later in the afternoon - after yet another visit to the fabulous markets at Uzès - Kev & I took Ross to Nîmes to catch his TGV back to Paris in order to catch his early Sunday morning plane back to Tokyo. Another one bites the dust!! It's all over now and I'm all of 70 years old but don't feel a day over 16!! VERY slight exaggeration there as you might have guessed! The plane Kerrii, Grace & Rupert were to catch from Madrid (after flying there from NYC) to Marseilles was an hour late leaving so had us all wondering where they had got to. Eventually of course they arrived just as we'd finished a late lunch of 'lapin'. While we were all as pleased as punch to see them it was patently obvious that Sienna was just THRILLED that her cousin Grace had finally arrived. Yours truly, Kev & Ross enjoyed a walk around Avignon before heading to the TGV station to pick up our hire car and meet Keith off the train he'd caught from CDG having flown in from Australia that morning. Then, with Kev driving, we headed off to Uzès for some grocery shopping, and from there to Foussargues where the house I'd rented for the week to celebrate my 70th birthday was situated. Not long after settling ourselves in, Nicola and Margot arrived having caught a later TGV to Avignon and then a taxi. By around 11.30pm or thereabouts Katherine, Thomas, Sienna & Evie arrived having flown from Copenhagen to Marseille where they picked up a hire car for the drive to join us.
