Well here we are in Paris ... in September. Our first real experience (travelling in the RER and trying not to falling asleep doesn't count)was at breakfast -
petit dejeuner - in the hotel. According to Joss the French know how to do breakfast! We had a tray delivered to our table with a jug of coffee, a jug of hot milk, freshly squeezed orange juice, yoghurt, cheese, croissants, bagettes, butter, jams and honey. Delicieux!
Next was to familiarise ourselves with the Latin Quarter, orient ourselves towards the Seine and other landmarks before zoning in on the Marais. We have an appartment here and took no time to find some of the more interesting ($$$) real estate near the Place des Vosges, the jewellery and acessory wholesalers (sorry Kate - no retail sales allowed) followed by the colourful Beauborg with its Pompidou Centre.
Lunch was a Bretonne experience with savoury gallettes and a sweet crepe. The creperie is conveniently located next door so if we are not in the mood to go far, we can still go far into their menu. Do we need to say they were good? That would be an understatement ... try magnifique! So we have started this at last ... so will now get on a roll with other entries! Enjoy!

Jossie's sense of wonder
So, Joss, has it been worth the effort and the money? What were your first impressions of the architecture, viewed from the banks of the Siene? Don't you just love the symmetry in everything? Couldn't you just load up a couple of urns and take them home?
