wrapping up

well, the second week of cours intensifs is passing quickly. starting next monday i will be in 2 semestriel courses, which i have yet to choose. mais ce n'est pas grave. je crois que ce soir en le cours de la belle région de Franche-Comté nous allons decouvrir qui peut suivre quel cours, en quel niveau, etc...

it is raining again today. i made up an expression to describe the weather in besançon: il fait merde. instead of il fait beau (it's beautiful outside) or il fait du vent (it's windy), i say il fait merde. i hope you follow.

i'm still trying to learn the guitar, very slowly at that. i dont remember if i mentioned it or not but Sam lent me his. I need to see if i can find a beginners book in english. maybe i will print some chords in the lab here...

back home, the baseball playoffs are starting. glad to se the chisox are out. too bad that 20 games over .500 in the AL gets you the same thing as 20 games under in the NL. oh, macphail resigned (finally) and baker was not offered an extension. i sense a cubs world series championship in the coming century, perhaps before i die.

quoi d'autre... the bears are undefeated. i could see maybe the giants or the patriots beating them but other than that, they already have the NFC north locked up, and a super bowl appearance is pretty much guaranteed. good to know they will still be playing when i get back to the states.
