Panorama Spring has arrived in France

Day 32-33 This blog is like an infomercial. My laptop is being shipped tomorrow morning and I don't know where my next internet access will be after leaving Biarritz.

After all the planning over many months or even years when the idea first came into my head, I'm finally at the start of the Camino Frances. The book that first put the idea in my head is 'Slow Journey South' by Paula Constant. That was 3 years ago. But she started her walk from London and has continued afterwards across the Sahara Desert on a camel train (new book soon to be released).

Just so you know where I'm going, I put together a route map. I am doing this slower than most and will be spending extra time in places, or maybe going off the track to visit nearby villages if time permits. There is an english teaching school in Logrono that I will take time out to visit and observe some classes. Maybe get in a demo class or two. Opportunity for work perhaps.

Below are the approximate dates and distances travelling each day. This list shows I arrive in Sarria on 3rd but I have a day up my sleeve before Sylke arrives. And don't think I've gone all anal on this. There's an internet site where you can put stops along the way and it does all the calculations. So someone else has gone anal for the sake of helping others.

I start walking on 18th April from St Jean Pied de Port with a stop at Auberge d'Orisson first night and then to Roncesvalles on the 19th.
