Geo: 43.1637, -1.23699None of us could afford 30 days in a Marriott or even a Super 8. As pilgrims, we will be allowed to stay in Albergues, these are like hostels. Most are dormitory style with shared bathrooms, some will have private and semi-private rooms. You are only allowed to stay one night, most have lights out at 10:00PM and they put you out the door by 10:00AM.  In our research, we found that it was highly recommended that we bring our own sleeping bag rather than trusting the cleanliness of the mattresses and bedding.   ... read more

Wednesday started at 9am. We borded the bus and everyone was so excited because today was rafting day! Our professor gave us motion sickness medicine cause there were a lot of sharp turns continously. After the bus took the medication, someone noticed one of the side effects was drowiness! Yeah, that knocked most of out or if we fought it, loopy. I slept for about an hour. It was some good stuff, but we all know it was probably for the best. We went to lunch in a little French town called Saint Jean Pied de Port. It was such a cute little French town that I didn't want to leave! The Things that We´re Most Scared of, Are the Things that Could Set us Free Leaving Roncesvalles March 31 I woke up around 0500 to the noise of others getting ready for their day. Almost all of the people in the albergue are starting their walk from Roncesvalles. I attempted to go back to sleep because I figured I was not walking today and could sneak in another hour or so of rest. I was wrong! I was shaken awake around 0645 by a man that works at the albergue. I threw myself out of my bunk and packed up my belongings and headed out into the dark streets.
