This is without any doubt my favorite place in Denmark: Magleby. It's a small village, not so far from Koge, a port town, about 40 km to the south west of Copenhagen. There are no museums here, no art galleries, no monuments, no fancy restaurants, so it isn't mentioned in any travel guide. And still this place enchants me every time I am there ... In order to understand why I love Magleby so much, you have to know that there is an important difference between the Belgian and the Danish coastline. We Belgians have only about 60 km of coast, Denmark has about thousands of kilometers of beaches. I showed up here in Denmark to wrap up my Europe trip with a bang. The proper Danish welcome is to lose your lugagge I guess, so I was greeted properly and Courtney, Shelby and I headed for Koge. Koge is a tiny town just south of Copenhagen where Simon, Courtney and now Shelby Chercka live. Shelby is their new 2 month old so this week is going to be a great experience for me so live with a tiny baby. She has been so sweet and even smiles when I hold her, well for a little bit. The Cherckas live in the Billesborg "estate" which is a school/church/their home. Courtney teaches english and Simon is going to Grad. school in Copenhagen. We've written our travelogues for family and friends, and any Internet visitors from around the world who might surf in looking for info about the places we've been to, or the how-to's regarding motorcycle touring. Our mode of travel is also known as mototouring (a term that may have been coined in Europe) or going on a Harley vacation - which we don't feel entitled to calling it, since we drive a trusty ol' Japanese bike we've named the Red Baroness. Kavli: Så er der ikke mange timer til vores fly letter. For mit vedkommende er det allerførste gang jeg skal ud at flyve, så jeg er sikker på at jeg bliver meget spændt, når jeg engang sidder i kabinen. Der er nemlig ingen af os der har fået den mindste ansporelse af sommerfugle i maven endnu. Jeg tror vi først rigtig kan forstå tingenes tilstand, når vi står midt i dem, og så vil det sikkert være med et træk på skuldrene og et "Nåhja.. jeg er sulten. Hvor skal vi gå hen?". Nu er min mobil løbet tør for strøm.. Mønster står ude i køkkenet og smører sandwiches. De skal være vores frokost, aftensmad og morgenmad i dag og i morgen. Så sidder jeg (Mønster) i Køge... Det er efterhånden lang tid siden der er sket noget i vores projekt, men det begynder at tage form her de næste par uger. Afrejse datoen kommer stadig til at ligge i starten af Januar, mere præcist i omkring d. 8. Planen er stadig at tage til Nepal for at trekke en tur, og derefter til Indien.
