We decided it was about time started to do some serious travelling northwards so we had a very pleasant and varied 300k drive.

First along fairly uninteresting coast to the port of Zadar. Then over a bridge and along the barren Island of Pag which necessitated a ferry crossing back to the mainland at the other end. This was followed by a wild and mainly uninhabited coastal section on the foothills of the Velebit mountains to the pleasant looking town of Senj. From Senj we left the Adriatic and headed inland first up a very steep and winding road with occasional glimpses of the sea as we got higher and then across a pretty rolling plateau.

We stayed on the car park of Bisto Marina in the village of Korenica. We had had our lunch their on our previous visit to this area. They made us very welcome and we had a reasonably priced delicious roast pork dinner in the restaurant.
