We had a lovely breakfast and spent the morning reorganising clothes and suitcases. Liz did a bit of ironing and we had coffee and lunch in our apartment. The afternoon we saved to look at Split. We learned that the bus to Split was in front of our Bed & Breakfast, so what a bonus. Because parking a car in this very crowded Europe, is like winning a three and sub in the3 lottery. Excitedly we made our way to the old town. It was in 295 AD- 1700 years ago, that the Roman Emperor, Diocletinus started the palace. In the seventh century, when the nearby inhabitants, took refuge in the Palace, during the invasion of AFARS and SLAVS, the Palace grew into a town. As lovers of old sites we were terribly disappointed. Wherever you look business was conducted. Shops, Stalls, cafe's etc with signs everywhere. It was difficult to get photos of the old remnants but we did get some with lots of patients. A big liner had moored in the harbour, so it was as busy as Rundle mall on a Friday night. We slugged our way through this crowd to find the bus stop that would take us back to Podstraana. It was close to the Harbour and apart from the bus stop we found a nice watering hole that had beautiful cold beer. Back in the bus we just had to watch where to leave it, but the driver gave us a warning, so that was nice. Later that night we a nice meal again at the same place as yesterday, the Fabio restaurant. Until next time Liz & Allan
