Cloudset
The sun setting on the clouds at 34000 feet over the Atlantic ocean So I’m in Europe now. It still hasn’t sunk in to me though it is really a crazy thought to think that I am halfway around the world from where I was a day ago. So let’s recap. The excursion here was really not bad at all. On the first leg of the trip there was a slight amount of turbulence that caused my friend Racheal to keep grabbing onto my arm. I though that it was funny that the first plane trip she has taken was goingt o be a huge intercontinental trip. The flight though did allow me some time to get some really beautiful pictures. The only probeln with the flight was that I couldnt reallt get a good nights sleep I kept waking up even though I had the good fortune on the long flight to have to seats to myself so I could strtch out some.
So now were in innsbruk in the airport all wondering where to go so we start walking like a big herd of sheep with everyone just thinking the person in front knows where to go and all hoping the leader does. haha. Once we get through the
pass port check and all have our bags we are standing next to baggage claim just piddling around and Toni asks me if she can use the bathroom and me watch her stuff. Almost as a premonition to the trip the moment she walks in the bathroom the rest of the group starts leaving so I have to wait outside the bathroom as the entire group leaves the security area to god knows where. When she come out we turn the corner and thankfully everyone had decided to move 30 feet for some reason but still it was close.
The next leg on the trip to Innsbruck was by bus with a very good German bus driver. He was constantly saying ya and smiling it was funny. The trip though was great and was a great opportunity for amazing pictures. The funniest thing I think about the bus trip here was that when we stopped to have lunch at a rest stop we got the bags and then the bus driver started to sell beer for a euro for us to drink. It was absolutely ridiculous but a great idea for him, I mean almost all of us
The group flight people
Here we are eating lunch and if you look close you can see the beers I was talking about bought one and he probably made a killing off of it. Then once we got back on the road the bus driver took us off the highway and started driving though towns and up the switchback roads all the way up sides of mountains and down the other side. I thought we were going to fall off the edge so many times. Speaking of near misses though the cyclists in Europe are even crazier than the ones in America I mean they are on the huge mountain roads with crazy inclines and not only that but then buses like ours and cars are passing them just barley with room to spare with blind corner ever 50m. It was so much fun but really scary too at some points because I thought they was no way that we were going to miss that car or that tree. Ha-ha but I guess our bus driver is better than I thought he was.
WERE IN INNSBRUK
So we are here and we are all exhausted but somehow some friends and I still had enough energy to go and walk around downtown Innsbruck so we get on the city bus F
German mountains
The first chance I had to take a pictrure of the mountains in Germany without the crazy trees always being ion the way route and go. Once we get downtown we decide to get off at the train station and wander around from there. It is such an amazing and beautiful city. I love the fact though that I don’t see any big corporations or anything, I mean it could just be that that they are different names and business strategies but everything is a small little shop. The restaurants all have amazing menus and the cafes I love. Once we had walk for a while and gotten sufficiently turned around we stopped at a cafe and sat down outside for about 2 hours. I had a beer and a bowl of garlic crème soup with croutons which was absolutely amazing and one of the richest things I have ever eaten. When Aaron got his sautéed mushrooms we found the joy of dipping them in the remnants of my soup. After we ate we just sat there and people watched for a good hour and talked, Aaron regaled us with his tales from his recent trip to Ireland and back. When the time finally came to get up and leave we found our way back to the train station and back to the
The beauty of Innsbruk
The is the square we sat in for a long while yesterday and ate and drank and talked. The yellow umbrellas in the center is the cafe hotel. I was so exhausted from the trip and the day in general that I fell asleep on the bus most embarrassingly. I then went up to my room took a shower and passed out until I started writing this entry so I think I am well rested for the day. I did get woken up once when Aaron decided to try and get me to come back out to the bars but I was just unable to at all.
In other news I am still awaiting the arrival of my roommate Laki Politas he I on his way here from Crete and I hope he gets here soon so he can start having some fun before classes start.
