Thomas was off with the Frenchies , and Libor had his volleyball class and went out with some of the people from it after. This was pretty much solid ice covered by a little bit of snow, so needless to say it was tricky getting up.

Road?

We ended up on a road at some point, and then the path proceeded to take us through the yellow house's backyard.

Looking up. We were all celebrating our greatness that we weren't taking the lift up and we weren't going to take it down...or so we thought.

This might've been right before one of the several times Libor, like the rest of us, wiped out. Hard to tell, though.

River?River?
River?

There were a lot of frozen paths like this that were most likely rivers in the summer. Not so much now.

While he, Martyna, and I were waiting on the Frenchies, Libor decided to make a little snowman.

You could only get glimpses through the trees, but it was this huge valley, a lot of which was covered by clouds.

We were all so happy when we saw it, since we could eat lunch. Then we realized it was no longer operating. A very loud SCHEISSE echoed from the mountain that day...

From the deck of the restaurant we ate at. The track is for a louge-type thing you can do here during the summer months, so maybe we'll come back in June and do it, who knows. In this picture, as well, you're looking at Carinthia, Steiermark (so those 2 are Austria), Slovenia, Croatia, and Hungary. Not bad.

The tower at the top of the mountain. It's one of the major weather points of Austria. About 22 seconds after I took this picture, you couldn't see the tower at all because the fog was so thick.

Awesome pictures, Matthew. And kids here cry when they sit on Santa's lap. Gives new meaning to the term scary.

Wow! That sounds so awesome! I love the pictures! Looks so Christmas-y! Your dream land! The whole monster thing sounds scary - I even got a twinge of nerves reading it! I know, that's just me! Once again, I sound like a broken record, but I am SOO happy that you are having such an amazing experience! Good job on trying goulash - and eggs! We pulled out the x-mas decorations today and set up out dickens village complete with snow! The only we'll see here I'm afraid! xok
