Today we went into the rainforest! We got up at about 6am and went very early to meet Fitzroy, our guide. We trekked through the rainforest on the Gilpin Trail, which took us to many beautiful waterfalls. We also saw some amazing animals. There was a bit of a Steve Irwin moment when Fitzroy leapt onto a clump and grabbed this little snake!! It was so small and it wasn't poisonous, in fact it was quite cute. The end part of its tail came off though, which was disgusting, because it was still moving! Fitzroy said it would grow back though. We also saw some little freshwater crabs, lots of birds, including the biggest and rarest hummingbird on Tobago. There were wild boar and pigs and many different varieties of snake including the Boa Constrictor, but we didn't see any of those because they were hidden deep in the rainforest. We saw the trap door of a Trap Door Spider's home and some armadillo tracks but we didn't see them either. We did see a nest though, of a tiny bird, and we knew this because, when we looked inside, there it was looking at us! We saw plenty of trees too! There was bamboo, and we spotted a really, really strong vine which you could ( if you were brave enough) swing on like Tarzan, because it would hold your weight! We also saw some green & orange parrots, and we also heard their calls.

Fitzroy lives on the other side of Bloody Bay, and he told us how we could get down to the Gravel beach, where there was supposed to be a reef and some good snorkelling, which was just round the headland from the Bloody Bay beach ( practically on our doorstep). We drove down after our 2 and ½ hour rainforest tour to find it wasn't really as accessible as we would have liked, because we would have all our snorkel gear. So we came back home for lunch, and then went down the road to Bloody Bay beach. We put on our gear and swam all the way out to see until it was about 12ft deep, and then round the headland to the reef. It was disappointing, it was too shallow, some quite strong currents and my 'underwater' camera filled up with water and broke! So we turned back and swam all

the way back round the headland to Bloody Bay beach. That was SO annoying and the swim was really hard! We basically chilled for the rest of the day and had hotdogs for tea.
