Ah, the umbrella drink on the beach!
Merry Christmas Gringos Amigos

Boy, do we know when to get outta town! We have been keeping in tune with the happenings on SJI via emails and "The San Juan Islander" and it doesn't look like a good time to us! Although, the pictures are beautiful, have fun in ALL THAT SNOW.

Our little complex where we are renting consist of the owners that are from Quebec and have been here for two and a half years, another couple also from Canada that just became Panamanians via "Pensionado Visa" plan and a couple from Brittan that are thinking of moving here and starting some kind of business. All eight of us have an entrepreneurial spirit so our brain storming sessions are informative and fun. This usually occurs at "happy hour" around 4:30 in and around the pool. All eight of us went to a Mexican restaurant last night for dinner, great food, and the owners are from Virginia Beach. Howard and I usually split our meals, our meal with cerveza and coke costs $6.95 (including tax). One of our most expensive dinners was at a beachside restaurant for $17.00, very good fresh fish dinner with a small bottle of

wine. We stop at the local places and have lunch for $2. to $4. usually consist of chicken & rice and two soft drinks.
In our haste to leave I packed the wrong camera battery charger which will be sent to us. With taking lots of pictures while in Ohio and here we’ve managed to run the battery out of juice. We want to continue to take pictures daily of the newly explored areas and sites so I came up with the idea of finding a camera shop that would have the same Canon camera and borrowing a charger for a few hours to recharge. That meant a trip to the “Albrook Mall’ ….oh no…shopping! It worked and now we’re back in business, but I have to tell ya the shopping here is unreal and hard to believe things are sooooo cheap! For example, a bra that would cost $30 to $35 in the states costs $1.99 here! Can you say OMG! LET’S GO SHOPPING! Gas prices here is $1.91 a gallon, not bad.
Today being Christmas the eight of us are BBQing fresh fish, jumbo size shrimp, steak, veggies and dessert by the pool. We’ll be thinking of you
