Hammock in Honduras!
Myself and some americans on the beach close to Omoa! Hola!
Arriving safely in Honduras after 24 hours of flying with no bags, it was a relief to meet my country coordinator and host mother at the airport.
I was brought to their cute, quaint home and introduced to Zoila´s children Nara, 19, and Dennis, 6. I was also introduced to 4 American girls just ending a trip through the same program this week. Got to know them all quite a bit and then finally got to go to bed!
Awaking early in the morning of day two, we headed to Andolucia, where I will be working with toddler aged kids. I got to spend time with the kids and had a chance to get to know some of them.
We then headed to ABC, which was a centre for at risk young boys. Here we played soccer with the boys for a bit. Both centres were amazing but heart breaking.
After buying a swim suit just after lunch, we headed for a drive to see the beach. The beach is beautiful, the best beach I have experienced! Spending time at the beach with Zoila, her family, as well as the american girls and some other
At the beach..
Saumya and I.. family friends of Zoila´s we enjoyed a gorgeous and sunny afternoon!
Home from the beach we had a delicious chicken bbq with friends and family from all over the city. The attitude here is so amazing so welcoming and so communal! They are beautiful people!
Hope Edmonton and Canada warms up a little...well maybe not to 33...but close! Miss you
Whitney

Central America without Supplies
Buenos Noches Miss Whitney, Glad to hear you arrived safely. Sorry to hear your bags were lost - better get used to washing the 2 pair of undies you packed along... But seriously, I imagine you will encounter much that both breaks and warms your heart, and hope the time you spend in Honduras is enriching. Love Ya.
