Mole St-Nicolas: We sailed into this very picturesque village just after 2:30 pm Friday, to a gracious welcome by the villagers along the shore line. It felt as if we where Christopher Columbus ourselves!! What a feeling to arrive in a small, very secluded place were very few come visit. Some of the local fishermen came to us offering their catches of fish, lobster and conch. We exchanged a handful of Gourdes (local Haitian currency) for 10 lobsters, which calculated too around 15 dollars US. After which we went to shore, by way of their local wooden fishing boat, oared by young villagers, and were guided through out this small, yet historical village. What a shock for us,,. Arrived in Port Au Prince Haiti after a long and often delayed trip from the UK. It all started really well; we were upgraded into business class on our trip over from the UK to Washington. Unfortunately from then on there were countless delays due to fuel leaks on the plane and passengers being taken ill.... For the open-minded traveller it is place to experience countless wonders, without the confines ... read more

The musical is primarily about a young peasant girl who falls in love with a rich Grand Homme, but they can not be together because of their differences in class/skin. It has some historical aspects, like one number which is a "history lesson" telling about how the "peasants fought against french and they hated napolien, they fought for their island and finally won!" When ... read more

After almost getting to dizzy of being in the cruise ship our first stop Labadee in Haiti a complete first calss tourist facility in one of the most poor country around the globe it was quite a difference, but this contrast can only be noticed if you have certain backgorund around Haiti, and some general facts in their historical development surrounded of corruption, dictators, several invasion and a subhuman way of life in general (my intention in this blog in not making any political or historical judgements my only intention is to picture a frame solely based in my personal references) so coming back it was like landing in a hollywood set, to perfect to be natural, a unbelievable bay, incredible beach, every rock in the correct place just wonderfull (but it's fair to say that ... read more
