The Lock!
Self Explanatory.
We have since left Belize, spending our last night in a tree house in San Ignacio. We were the only guests staying at the hostel and got lots of information about Belize over the amazing home cooked meal from the owner. We have since made our way into Guatemala. So far, it is a great country. Lots of nice people, cheap food and booze, and the greenest countryside I've ever seen. We were up early this morning and went for sunrise at Tikal, Guatemala's best and most famous ruins- and rightly so. It ws amazing being there before all the tourists. I think we saw maybe 5 people while wondering around the site. The screaming howler monkies kept us company while we watched the ruins poke out from the clouded sunrise.

After months of double shifts and saving up the time has finally come for us to set out on our 11 month vacation. The route we have planned will surely change but for now is as follows:
August 27 fly into Cancun, Mexico
Sept - mid October we are going to be backpacking thru Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica
October 17 we fly to Dominican for Lisa's wedding
Fly back to Costa Rica and work our way into Panama
Fly to Equador and work our way through Peru, Chile, Argentina
Home to Vancouver, B.C. for Christmas
