Hey everybody, so here's the deal. I'm still waiting to hear the official word on Honduras, but for right now I'm in the Dominican Republic until the 22nd of July. I'm living in a host family in Santo Domingo for the first three weeks of training which consists of language/cultural/technical training. After three weeks we're supposed to go to Honduras BUT everything seems to be up in the air right now.
Things are going well although it certainly is hot, but for sure that is something to get used to.

My Friend,
I wish you well in your work, learning, and travels! Looking forward to your posts!
Ciao,
Lauren
Hey, tigere! I hope you are enjoying Sto. Domingo! If you have the time and/or the money to travel a bit, check Samaná on the Atlantic, or Sosúa (4 hours by bus) or Cabarete; it's a different sight and feeling of the country. Also, have you read "The Feat of the Goat" or "The Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao"? Together with "In the Time of the Butterflies", they are great introductions to Dominican history!
Stay cool!
Dear Joseph, Thanks so much for your message and Happy 4th! We miss you and love you! Mom and Dad XXX OOO
