Dear All What can we say its absolutely pouring - thunder and lightning beats anything we get at home!! Thankfully it only started about half an hour ago (time now 7pm here Sunday). Just about to try out the oriental restaurant tonight with alas yet more booze. Plea from Cliff how did Chelsea get on and for Ris how did Man U get on. Been sailing today and the boys got a game of water polo. They joined the losing side but managed to end up the victors all thanks to Jeffs 2 goals albeit 2 handed! J and J also managed a goal each. Hi first entry abroad - All arrived safely although via a "painful" journey. Our flight was via "Puerto Rico" (USA!!!) - we had to make an emergency diversion (unfortunately an 18 month old child, who couldn't have been very well, died on the flight) - we had to disembark, fill in visa applications etc etc what a hastle. We arrived here at 05.30am UK time (12.30am here - Thursday). Jonny and Ris say hi to everyone back home - they've (we've) seen the Gazebo where they are to marry and say it is "nice", "cool" and "pretty". Ros and Cliff say all in all" this is a fantastic place - last night we did the "Dominican menu" and Jamie used the Casino afterwards (came out $150 the better (I don't know how he does it!!!). We ... read more

My second trip to the Dominican Republic lead me Puerto Cana. The all inclusive hotel, Iberostar, is one I would certainly recommend! The hotel is right on the beach and is actually three hotels combined, Iberostar Punta Cana, Dominicana, and Bravado. The three hotels share a beach and you can dine at any of the restaurants. For our five day trip we were able to pick two special restaurants. We picked a steak house and a Mexican restaurant, but if those aren’t your preference you can choose from several others. ( I preferred the buffet over any of the restaurants, the buffet had so much amazing food.) The Iberostar is really a fantastic resort. Besides for all the choices in food (and beverages) there are so many choices in activities. There were tennis courts, massage areas, ... read more
