Montezuma to San Jose

We body surfed here.
We are now in San Jose, a place we've been on another trip here, and one of the better big cities here...however, our bad luck with hotels here has held out over the years....some of you have heard about our first night here five years ago, and last night was just as bad!

We had made reservations for the sister hostel of the place we stayed and loved in La Fortuna..in the flyer the place looked great--a pool, garden, roof top restaurant....well, our room was similar to what I imagine a prison cell would be like, only prisioners are not subjected to really, really loud music until past 1am...along with the accompanying drunks...Also, our room had its only tiny window opening on the stairs up to bar, and the large hallway window (which didn't open) had no curtain....and it smelled of mold. If it hadn't been raining harder than I've ever seen (with lightning striking close by), we would have looked for another hotel yesterday..we finally moved to another room to sleep and will be leaving here soon!

If i was lucky a mango would fal from the trees into the hammock and I could eat it...if i was unlucky, it would fall and hit me or Bill.. I got lucky twice!
walking around the city, doing banking and buying our bus tickets for tomorrow...this hotel, the Santo Tomas, is in a 100 year old house, built by owners of a coffee plantation....the floor tiles are original, as is much of the mahogany....and it's quiet!

Our last days in Montezuma were spent relaxing....the next blog will be from Panama, hopefully! Hard to believe the trip is nearing the end....
