puerto viejo beach so i have been really busy and havent wrote in almost two weeks!!oops alright so here is a big update for you all..alright two weekends ago we went to puerto viejo a city on the caribbean coast.it was by far my favorite place of all and possibly i have ever been in my life.it was beautiful.it is a really chill town with a jamaican feel reggae music and this music called regaton is really popular down here it is like reggae/hip hop kinda i guess is the best way to describe it.we got there friday night and we ate at a caribbean restaurant which this guy told us was really cheap but that ended up being a huge lie because my meal cost 7.000 colones or like $14.and when im used to being able to get a lunch here for like $2 that was really really expensive...so not cool but it was really good but not $14 good.ill have to let it go i suppose.so after dinner we walked around the town.it is just really cool like surf shops, tiki huts, steel drums, dredlocks, rastafari, soccer, reggae, mojitos.we sat at a bar/live music place and listened which was really cool just

puerto viejo to get the feel of the city.everyone is really friendly and i spent the night talking with one of my friends to these two dredlock guys in spanish the whole night which was really good practice and a lot of fun.the next morning we got up and went to a beach to swim and snorkel and kayak and then we came back in the late afternoon and got pizza but seriuosly this pizza was the best pizza i have ever had in my entire life it is like heaven.it was super fresh and just perfect.they made it from scratch right in front of us.then we went out to johhnys which is a reggae dance/bar place on the beach.it was so much fun and we spoke spanish the entire night.and i felt super cool because people seem to think i am from costa rica or argentina.a few people came up and rambled something really quick in spanish and i asked them to repeat it and they were all suprised that it wasnt my first language cause they thought i was from cartago (a province down here) so that is pretty cool.i feel really bad for blond girls down here they really

oh yeah i went to a bull fight too and we all ran around in the middle with this bull.until they made all the americans leave when they brought out the one with giant horns. get the raw end of the deal.always getting yelled at and comments so i guess i am lucky 😊 that was one of the best nights of my life. it was a perfect day, perfect weather, perfect atmosphere and just pura vida (costa rica's philosophy which means pure life) they use it for everything as a greeting, as goodbye, as thank you, as your welcome, everything.
people are just so relaxed here.there was a guy selling bracelets on the street and i asked him if he would be there tomorrow and he said i dont know. i said what do you mean?he is like well i dont know i mean maybe ill get sick, maybe ill decide to move, maybe ill die who knows what is going to happen. but probably i will be here yes...pura vida. that is basically how everyone sees life down here which i think is pretty cool. on sunday we went to the beach and one of the rasta guys i met saturday night owns a surf school and it happened to me at the beach we went to so he gave me a free surf lesson which was sweet...i was awful but it

me and my roommate jess at the bull fight at palmares was still fun and free at that so i cant complain.
this past weekend on friday i went to palmares which is like summerfest for costa rica. it wasnt as big as i thought but it was something to do i suppose.saturday i didnt really do much cause i was so tired so some of us just walked around downtown san jose and checked out some markets and sampled a bunch of foods we never tried before. on sunday we had to get up at 5 to head to isla tortuga.it was beautiful.it was like a private paradise we took a 2.5 hour bus ride and then it was another 2 hour boat ride to get there.just an island in the middle of the ocean by itself. i went snorkeling there and the water was so clear and i saw all kinds of things blue and yellow fish, coral, sea cucumbers ( i held one!!), starfish, this octopus thing and it was really cool.then the rest of the day we relaxed on the beach and swam.it was beautiful and perfect.this week was pretty hectic for me with school but i just had my huge presentation so i am much

boat ride to isla tortuga more relaxed now which is why i found time to write this.so last night we went out to el sultan. we go every tuesday because they have 4 beers for 1.000 colones. so basically 4 beers for a little less than a dollar.it was a lot of fun and there were so many people and i might some ticos which is cool to meet like costa rican students to hang out with.right now i think im going to take a nap after this because i am super tired cause we were out kinda late last night cause el sultan is closing for renovations 😞 everyone is pretty sad. this weekend i am going to manuel antonio a national park which i am so so excited for because i heard it is a must see if you are in costa rica.and im going to have no homework this weekend for once cause my spanish class ends friday and then the next grammar one starts tuesday and since i just had my giant presentation in latinamerican dialect she decided to give us a break cause it was a lot of work 😊
thanks everyone for the comments it is really good
