The Corner of the Old Woman

at the water fall!
We departed from Samara yesterday, Tuesday, and arrived in Rincon de la Vieja which means the corner of the old woman. The story is a princess ran away from home and lived at the volcano here. There are a lot of natural hot springs and water so she became a healer and the mountain was her "corner." We went on a short hike and saw some of the boiling mud and the thermal springs which was great. Then we went in a hot spring in the afternoon. Later they made us a traditional costa rican dinner with meat from the ranch we are staying at. They had pasta and veggies for me. It was delicious and there were two cowboys playing music and they were very fun. This morning I got up and ran to a small waterfall. Then we had a breakfast buffet. This made me very happy because the meal I have been missing the most is breakfast. but they had fried eggs, home made tortillas, yogurt and granola and fruit. Delicious! Then we went on a horse back ride to a waterfall. The water was freezing but we got to jump in and get right next to the

beautiful and powerful waterfall. After that we went innerutbing down a river. But this was not the typical float and sunbath kind...we were going down some classified rapids! it was very fun, but a bit chilly. We came back for lunch and then this afternoon we are off to another hot springs and mud spa!xoxo
