Semana Santos Interesting words: In translation it means the “Holy Week” in Spanish. We have experienced the week of Easter - Costa Rican style. The Holy Water

This is where a native girl was visited by the madonna early in Costa Ricas history. There is a spring and people line up to get some of this holy spring water

The city of Cartago was destroyed a few time by earthquakes and volcanoes. Used to be the capital but they decided to move to San Jose
